Nick Peterson
Drawing and painting all of his life Nicholas Peterson began his filmmaking career at the Experimental Animation program at CalArts in Los Angeles California. His hauntingly emotional stop motion film “MuM” won numerous awards around the globe, including a Student Emmy, and an official selection at the Sundance Film Festival.
Continuing to expand his career, Nicholas wrote and directed the live action feature film DARK MIND starring Christopher Masterson (“Malcom in the Middle”) and Lyndsy Fonseca (“Big Love”, KICK ASS). Dark Mind’s quirky characters, strong visual style and hand crafted sets quickly snapped up numerous awards and screened in dozens of festivals around the world.
His strong visual approach of live action film, and love for animation is shown in his latest music video “The Bones” for the band Tweak bird, as it seamlessly marries live action photography with traditional rotoscope animation. This visually gripping video is a combination of classic film techniques mixed with current digital tools and continues Nicholas’ unique style and vision.
